    1. Hi Shirley, Thanks for the information. Your name will be added the next time around for revisions. Do you have any of your other class photos? The Keating class photo would be of particular interest. Daryl

    2. I would like to send you a letter that I just now sent to our group mailing list. Please let me know if this reaches you. I can post it here if you prefer as I did not see a way to contact you via your blog. You may also email me at twofosters@shaw.ca
Perhaps you noticed that Bruce McMorran has a video oral history posted on our blog that mentions your situation living in one of their cabins. Here is the direct link

  3. Thanks for the additional information. May I add it to our blog in the "Those were the days section"? I visited your blog and see that you are quite a writer. Better still, perhaps you would care to write a piece for us to post about your whole memories of life on the coast. You might be interested in visiting our Oral Histories page. Of particular interest to you might be Bruce MacMorran's video. Cheers, Daryl. Feb. 12...81

  5. Today I visited a lady in her late 80's who attended Royal Oak and Mt View Schools. You may have talked with her about the school pics before, she was Gert Campbell. Just in case, I took photos of her photos and any info on the back. Also got her to tell orally (my camera video) which names she remembered, pointing to them on the photo. Would anyone like to contact me, if interested, and I can put it on Dropbox? Have you heard of that? You can put large files that won't go thru email there and people can view them. It might be of use to some of you. Please don't use the gmail address, I can't even open that silly thing. Use pondcats@yahoo.com. I will only make them available if you are interested, as it is a fair bit of work. Bev (aka Doily)

    1. Yes, we are certainly interested in almost all things related to Royal Oak and in particular to the school. How to move the big files? If you are in Victoria I or one of our group could come by with a memory stick if that would work for you. I have not used the dropbox but could figure it out I expect. Could you give me a bit more detail on what photos you got so you are not doing unnecessary work. I guess you crosschecked with the photos we already have to make sure they are not duplicates.
Kind of you to go to this trouble. I don’t know if she has been approached but would like to learn more from her. There are so few left in the high 80’s and beyond.

      Cheers,

Daryl. emailed to pondcats@yahoo.com and posted on the ROSY blog.
