  1. Hello Royal Oak Historical Association, I’m reaching out to let your volunteers and researchers know about a new resource for Central Saanich history here at Oak Bay Archives. Images with full transcript are online at

OBA PR 132/02 is the handwritten diary of Mrs Walter Burgess (nee Mary Johnston Hastie), Oct 1907- Sept 1908. I can’t tell exactly where in central Saanich they were living, but Keating, or ‘Keaton’, is their nearest village store/post office/V&S train stop. I hope Saanich history researchers will find the digital images useful and the diary entry, and correct any errors they find in the transcript!
