We now have more than 160 class photos from the 1800's to the 1960's that I am just now finishing updating. Although most are from the original Royal Oak School and its replacement the 1952 Royal Oak School there are also examples from other schools that students from Royal Oak travelled to due to crowding at the home school or attended during other school years. These other schools include Mt. Newton High School, Prospect Lake School, Strawberry Vale School, Mt. View High School, MacTavish Road School, Keating School, Tillicum School, North Saanich School and Cordova Bay School. Did you know that some Royal Oak students attended as many as four different schools between grade 1 and 12 to accommodate the changing population?
Many of the students in the photos have been named but many have not so we could use your help with identification.
Also recently added to the blog is the 1964 Annual from Royal Oak courtesy of Shirley Hunt.
